8 Behaviors of Successful People

Forbes.com recently published an inspiring article entitled “Successful People:  The 8 Self-Limiting Behaviors They Avoid.”  It brought us back to our yoga mats, as a lot of these self-limiting behaviors are overcome through consistent practice.   This week and next, we’d like to explore each of these behaviors and how yoga can turn them on their heads (literally, in some cases!)

“Below the Line” vs. “Above the Line” Thinking:  Yoga challenges the body and the mind by putting practitioners in a challenging physical situation such as finding balance, strength or breath- sometimes with all of your limbs in a crazy position, or maybe even upside down.  The only way you can get through the posture is with your own strength and ingenuity.  Sometimes it takes a lot of practice, but in time, YOU are the one who explores YOUR body to find a solution which works for YOU, taking practitioners from “Below the Line” thinking that external obstacles are impacting their ability to overcome a challenge, to “Above the Line” thinking- empowering practitioners to take accountability for themselves, their actions and their outcomes, on and off of the yoga mat.

Stay tuned throughout the next two weeks as we continue to explore how yoga in your workplace can transform your employees’ outlook on work and life.
