Darcy
Darcy is a certified yoga instructor (200-Hour Yoga Alliance) who brings a unique blend of grounded wisdom, trauma-informed sensitivity, and a lifelong dedication to public service into every class. With a background in law enforcement and emergency response, as well as leadership in private security, Darcy creates yoga spaces rooted in safety, self-awareness, and respect for personal agency.
Darcy retired as a Sergeant from the Minneapolis Police Department after a distinguished 36-year career, including 17 years as a homicide investigator. His investigative and leadership roles extended to high-level security operations for events like Super Bowl LVII and the 2019 Final Four. A former EMT and current Red Cross-certified provider in First Aid, CPR, and AED, Darcy brings a deep understanding of physical safety, situational awareness, and nervous system regulation to his yoga teaching.
In his classes, Darcy emphasizes mindful breath, somatic movement, and body-based inquiry. His teaching invites students to tap into their strength, release tension, create space for openness, and cultivate presence—whether in a dynamic vinyasa flow, a core-strengthening sequence, or a quiet moment of stillness. He believes yoga is a powerful tool not only for personal transformation but also for resilience, recovery, and connection.
Darcy continues to draw from his past to serve others—now through movement, breath, and grounded presence on the mat.
